The IdBIS (Intelligent Databases and Information Systems) research group is created in 1995 by a group of researchers from the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence of the Unviersity of Granada. Our work focus on the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques in the area of Information Systems, with the aim to provide systems able to perform an intelligent management of data and, at the same time, communicate with users in an easy and effective way.
We have a wide experience in the use of Soft Computing techniques, such as the Fuzzy Set and the Representation by Levels theories, for dealing with uncertainty and for natural language processing. We have applied these techniques in the field of design and development of information systems, as well as in the Data Mining and Big Data areas. Particularly, we have successfully worked in:
- Advanced database models.
- Association rule mining.
- Mining dependencies in data.
- Text, web, and graph mining.
- Sentiment analysis.
- Linguistic description of data (data2text).
We have applied our results in practice in areas like medical databases and healthcare, building engineering, Nuestros resultados se han llevado a la práctica en aplicaciones dentro de ámbitos como las bases de datos médicas y salud, la ingeniería de la edificación, energy efficiency management, and security.
